Mentoring

Following the successful completion of training and simultaneous to the launch of the new church plant, leaders will enter a 12-month mentoring phase. The first year in the life of a church plant is critical for establishing health. The planter must develop healthy leadership habits in this formative stage. Research shows that more than 1 of every 3 new churches planted will not exist within a 5-year period. However, research also shows that the success rate is improved exponentially when a church planter benefits from the involvement of a mentor.

The likelihood of church survivability increases by 135% when the church planter meets at least monthly with a group of church planting peers. ‐ Viral Churches: Helping Church Planters Become Movement Makers

LAUNCH planters are paired with experienced mentors serving as a spiritual guide, providing soul care during this intense season, and as a guide in practical matters of leadership. Because our focus is on churches planting churches, a sending guide is provided to the partner church. This guide continually reinforces the 12 Leadership Competencies and focus on the spiritual health of both the planter and his family. This stage is invaluable as planters (and their families) face the countless challenges of planting a new church.  Therefore, mentorship is not an optional perk or matter of preference, it is a key step in the LAUNCH process for every church planter.
