Why did you choose the Hub approach?

Two reasons: First, we want our network to truly be a relational network. However, that’s difficult when you have churches spread across the country. So we decided that a better strategy would be to create local church planting networks revolving around Hub Churches. These Hubs serve as connecting points with spokes reaching out to neighboring churches. The momentum and force of this cooperative movement significantly increases the ownership of and enthusiasm for church planting efforts in the surrounding area. The strategy is for each LAUNCH Hub to be large enough to make a significant impact through leveraging collective resources, while still small enough to maintain relational strength.

The second reason for Hubs was the simple fact that it has proven successful. LAUNCH initially began through the passion, experience, and resources of West Ridge Church in the greater Atlanta area. In less than 15 years, the church had grown to over 4,000 in regular attendance, but more significantly, it had planted over 50 churches in only 6 years. Those church planters were invited back to participate as speakers, presenters, and coaches in the next semester of training. Over time, a significant network of church planters developed – men who worked together to inspire and equip the next generation of planters. Churches were planting churches. Leaders were developing leaders. LAUNCH aims to see this model replicated in at least 25 cities across the United States.

When will LAUNCH go Internatinoal?

In 2013 we will begin putting together a team to build our LAUNCH International strategy.

Is LAUNCH doing anything with Multi-site?

Because of Mac’s background at Seacoast Church, one of the nations premiere multisite churches, we have a strong interest in assisting in planting new multisite campuses. Again, LAUNCH intends to develop healthy leaders who will multiply churches through a variety of models. The particular model utilized by a church to reach its community with the gospel is a strategic decision to be made by each church and leader. Select LAUNCH partners are currently piloting church multiplication through multi-site strategies. We hope to offer a wide-scale implementation process in 2013.
