LAUNCH initially began through the passion, experience, and resources of West Ridge Church in the greater Atlanta area. Lead by their founding pastor, Brian Bloye, West Ridge Church was planted on the northwest side of metro Atlanta in 1997. In less than 15 years, the church had grown to over 4,000 in regular attendance, but more significantly, West Ridge planted over 50 churches is the last 6 years. 

By 2010, the commitment to church planting was taken to the next level, as LAUNCH was formed with the help of several other like-minded churches, breaking the mold of traditional church-planting strategies. The Launch Network would be more than a church-planting network; it was an intentional and strategic process of developing strong leaders for the sake of advancing God's kingdom. track record of church planting would now be coupled with Mac Lake's passion and ability to develop godly leaders. Before heading up the new team as The Launch Network's Chief Launch Officer, Mac Lake had also planted a church in 1997. He spent 7 years as the Senior Pastor at Carolina Forest Community Church, 30 miles north of Pawley's Island. The next 7 years were spent serving as the Leadership Development Pastor at Seacoast Church, a multi-site church in Charleston, SC, with 13 campuses. Mac utilizes a relational mentoring style to foster the confidence and competencies of church leaders.
